  1. This is a new style I've just made.
The organza ribbon has become very popular with the brides so I thought I'd make a new style.
A nice and simple design with not a bit of bling in sight, although I have to say I am tempted to add a rhinestone or 2 onto it. Maybe later......
If you like any of the garter designs but need different colour bows or flowers just let me know. I am able to change all the colours to suit your wedding theme. I have a workroom full of ribbon reels of almost any shade you can think of!
Im always happy to adapt colours to your own ideas. Just get in touch if you need any help choosing the colours you would like and I can custom make your bridal garter for you.

  2. This is a special ordered finished for a customer yesterday.
I was really pleased with the look of the swarovski rhinestones against the purple ribbon, stunning effect.
May try making a white one with just a touch of blue on the front of the garter. Pictures of a white one will follow soon.
But for now this is the garter made with purple trims.

  3. Delicate new garter design I'm now making.
The garter can be made in white or ivory and the embroidery and ribbon can be in any colour.
On the front of the garter is the new surname of the bride which is also a little secret pocket which holds a silver sixpence. In the centre of the double bow is a gorgeous Swarovski AB Crystal Love Heart, I also have blue crystals if preferred.

Covers the *Something old & Something blue* and makes a wonderful gift for the bride.
As with all my garter designs you are free to change any of the Garters. My workroom has hundreds of ribbon and embroidery reels and boxes of crystals. Far too many to show on here!
Please do get in touch if you need any help choosing any of the colours or a design you like. They can all be custom made to your idea’s.

  4. Wow, what a lovely sunny start to the day it is today, I do hope it continues through the week but sadly after hearing the forcast I don't think it will.
I'm going to make the most of it today and get out in the garden for a while. Lots of tidying up to do and I will no doubt be helped by Bailey my Labrador. Although to be honest he tends to create more of a mess, if he's not trying to get hold of my gardening gloves he will be digging unwanted holes, love him to bits though, the manky dog.

Then this afternoon I have a huge amout of cutting out to catch up on. My football garters are proving very popular at the moment so I've got a few of them to embroider.
I'm hoping to purchase a new embroidery machine soon, once I decide which one to get. The new one will be able to embroider over a much wider space so will be able to create a whole new range of products.
I've just ordered some new designs in the swarovski crystals, hopefully they should be here in the next week or so.
I've got some pendants coming which I am planning to use on the front of the garters. Just a bit different to what I normally use.
My new sixpence garters are going well so I am going to be thinking up some more designs for them.

Right off to work I go.
    Enjoy your sunny Sunday everybody.

  5. What a fab start this New Year has been. Had a bit of luck in buying a new microwave, as in it was priced wrongly and 'they' honoured the wrong price. Got lots of new storage cabinets to match the ones I already have. This house is beginning to look a bit like a storage container warehouse but I do like to be organised though and they are helping greatly.
Got refunded the wrong price on a pair of jeans to my advantage. Of course I didn't notice until I had left the store.....

I've also ordered lots of new haberdashery and can't wait for them to arrive. Some lovely new lace trimming, including black which I am intending to use for garters. I've a black garter order to make for a customer in Australia so ordered more than I needed to do a bit of experimenting. I'm just waiting for the postman to bring it all now.....HURRY UP!!!

I've also had the busiest January on record for sales, which I am over the moon about and it's only the first week.
I do hope this year goes by a bit slower cos I've got so many plans for it.

    Love Dx
  6. A Very Happy New Year to everybody.
Hope you all had a great Christmas. It's back to reality now and the hard work begins.
At least all the snow has gone, although I did read earlier that more was expected in Devon. I really hope not. I just want the winter to go and spring to be on it's way.

While having my Xmas break I came up with lots of lovely ideas for new designs and hopefully I will be trying them out very soon.
First up is going to be a range of luxury garters. I want to do a lot more bead work, my favourite thing and am working on some new guipure garters with gorgeous beads along the lace. It's very time consuming hand stitching the beads on and I probably don't charge enough for the hours it takes to stitch them on but I do so enjoy doing it.
Hopefully 3 new garters will be listed later on today and I am also thinking of making a matching ring cushion.

    Must dash now......work to do!

  7. Well as the title says I got my last orders made up and sent off today and what a relief that was, especially as Devon had snow today with more being threatened tonight. Don't get me wrong I love the snow at the right place and time but having a dog that 'expects' 3 walks a day is like dicing with death on a regular basis when there's snow around. I think I would be better off and much safer buying a sledge and letting him pull me along. I swear if he pulls me over he would carry on going even if it meant pulling me along in the middle of the road face down. Oh what a sight that would be. So snow please go away, I don't want you here yet.

So as I have no more orders to post out this year (although I'm getting a nice pile coming in for next year) I have a couple of days to dream up some new designs, my favourite days.

Oh and I suppose I still have the small matter of not having done any Christmas shopping yet. I have been good and sorted most of the Christmas cards out though. Not sure whether they will arrive in time for Christmas with the post not being good but at least they are on their merry way.

    Ho Ho Ho xx

  8. I must apologise for my lack of entries in my blog, I really haven't been very good at this 'blogging'.
On the plus side the main reason for not having written much is that I have been so busy with orders that it is mainly due to lack of time. Still winter will be here soon enough so hopefully I will have time to catch up with lots of things and get started on my list of things to do.
Apart from being busy with orders my 'baby' Bailey, the gorgeous fella below has been a bit under the weather. This picture was taken before Bailey, as usual, ripped the eyes off.

Bailey has got poorly hips. Hopefully beginning hydrotherapy soon to make them a bit stronger. Not that you would think he was ill the way he behaves sometimes. He regularly appears in my sewing room throughout the day for either attention, food or it's time for walkies. I wouldn't have him any other way though.

So I promise to try and be a bit more regular at posting but we will have to wait and see how well I do.

  9. Where on earth did the last 3 weeks go to???
Can't believe how quickly this year is flying by.

I've been working flat out at the moment as I'm having a much needed break soon.
Got my best friend and her little boy coming to visit all the way from Kent.
I only get to see them once or twice a year so I'm really looking forward to it.
The garden is getting a tidy up today in anticipation of having some nice sunshine while they are here, so we can hopefully have some BBQ's in the garden. That's the plan anyway but the good old English weather very rarely goes to plan.

I've been so busy with orders that I've still not managed to make up all the new designs I've planned, I will get there in the end though.
Although I will be having a week off from 1st August I will still be around so please feel free to email or call me.

  10. Well, the first month of my new site has kept me a very busy bee. Lots of lovely new customers, some of which have given their comments in my guestbook. Thank you for all your lovely words.

I've just had a lovely delivery of new fabrics today. I've ordered some totally different colours to what I normally use and now have an even larger range in burgundy satins. I can't believe how many different shades are available in burgundy nowadays.
So the month ahead will be very busy making up my new colours and hopefully designing some new products, my favourite part of the job. I've got some new shades in blue, green, plum and 2 new gorgeous cerise pinks.
I've also had a new delivery of Swarovski Rhinestone Crystals. So look out for even more items with a bit of bling. I love a bit of sparkle!

  11. Hello everybody, welcome to the first blog that I have ever written. It will probably be awful but I'm sure I will improve in time.....

Well, my new site went live last Friday (7th May) and it has been an extremely busy week for me. Lots of orders have come in and I have spent far too many hours on the pc adding new things and changing the site.
I've still got lots more add but there's never enough hours in the day.

I didn't have a very good start to the week when my embroidery machine broke or so I thought. I immediately got on the phone to my Mum and arranged to have her machine couriered down from Lincolnshire to here in Devon.
In the afternoon I went racing off to a sewing machine shop in Exeter, where as if by magic the lovely man fixed it in a few minutes. 'Something' was jammed.
Panic over and I now have my Mum's machine as backup, she however has no machine at all! Good old Mum.

On my first blog ever I would like to thank my best friend Julia for all her input into my new site. She has 'advised' me on what looks good and what doesn't, so if you don't like it blame her!!
Seriously though, thank you Julia, not just for the site but for always being there for me. You help me through the drama's that life throws at me and I couldn't get through them without you. Lots of Love to You & Adam xx

Ooh, this is getting emotional! I'd better sign off before I really get going and tell you my life story.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy my site.
Any feedback is welcomed, good or bad, well mainly good would be better but there's always things that need improving but be gentle....
